Inspired by Sue Wilsons (Creative Expressions) use of Rangers Antique Linen Ink. I love the subtleness of this colour (although my naff camera skills dont do the pic any justice at all).

This is the last card for a month or so, as Im on hols.... Ive used a Kanban stamp set for this card... Viv, and Pam brought me this in Farnborough Make it show earlier in the year.. I think you will agree a very versatile set it is too... Coloured the image with promarkers and spectrum noir.. then added a light gold glitter around the shapes. Quite effective... and very glitzy.

Ive used that stamp again, and coloured it in Aqua colours, n painted over the dress with H2o's metalic paint. The papers are from Papermania, Color Capsule blue. Spellbinders Parisian die, and added ribbon by threading it around the card.

Just because this purple piece of paper has been looking at me for the last week. I thought Id have a play... and just for once Im quite pleased with the result... I was inspired by Sue Wilson's use of Yellow, I have quite a lot of yellow card in my stash, and rarely use it. Its a Kanban stamp, coloured with Promarkers, Spellbinder dies, and some of Brenda's roses. plus a little yellow glitter. (I used some glitter from one of those little file's, as I was taking the lid of the file shot out of my hand... glitter everywhere........... including me. Dont yer just hate it when that happens.

Sir Stampalot March Challenge

Hi all

Its been a long time since Ive been on here Ive forgotten how to do stuff.. My friend Rosie (next door) passed away in January, and for a number of weeks I was helping her out. At least where I could. She had been suffering with congenital heart disease for a number of years. And for the last few years with Heart failure. But she battled on bravely. I miss her though, as I saw her daily, even if she was out with her Daughter during the day, it would always end with a cuppa and a laugh at mine.

I saw the Sir Stampalot challenge, n thought Id have a go, as I love to use my punches. I have used my all time favourite stamp. Duet by Inkadinkado, Nellie Snellen dies. Dps Sissix and Prima. Small flower punch, tiny sun punch, and to very small leaf punches. The sentiment is inside.

Ive managed to load the photo, now all that remains, is do I remember how to do the link...

Hello again

Its been a long time since I been on here, I had my Grandsons, to look after 2 or 3 times a week during the school holidays, which meant all my craft stuff had to be put away, (from little fingers, The my holiday to Zante for 2 weeks, n then the heating engineer had to come in and fix the heating. Ive finally got my craft stuff out, Ive stamps I brought at Ally Pally not even used them yet... can you believe that.. (not to mention the papers n stuff) I will get to catch up with all my favourite blogs.

Sir Stampalot October challenge

Hi all

Ive been trying to get this on since this morning. for some reason blogger isn't playing ball, isnt that always the way! Its been one of those days, where everything has taken me longer to do than normal! Don't ya just hate them.

I was asked to be Guest designer for this months challenge. Of course I was delighted to accept the challenge.

The Theme:- Autumn breezes, buttons and bows

After some deliberation this is what Ive come up with. I ended up with ink all over me and the table as usual but it was worth it. I love the colours of Autumn, I live oposite the woods so I have the pleasure of seeing all the trees turn colour at this time of the year.

Hi all
I have had a really good weekend, Viv, and Pam have been here since Thurs... lots of chat, lots of laughs, and a little retail therapy at Ally Pally.. disapointing though. Its classed as the biggest stamp show in England... (NOT) Newbury stamp show is much bigger and lots more exhibits... even Farnborough is as big. Not a lot of bargains either. Lots of people though. but it was a trip out, but I wouldnt go again.

I cannot take all the credit for this card, as it was really designed by Viv I just coloured it in and assembled it. It is a take on a card she made at Monks Den.
The stamped image is from Papermania, and Ive coloured parts of him in promarkers, and stamped him again on patterned paper. its a great stamp with lots of possiblities. the grass and the fence were punched out using Martha Steward punches, and the little leaves are large birch leaf by Leone Em. Cardstock from stash.

Hi all

Well the weekend is nearly over, but at least its been a nice one, Im looking after 3 kittens for the next 10 days as my Daughter and the boys are on holiday.
I let them out in the garden for half an hour, then took me over an hour to get them back in. They can go out one at a time tomorrow (lol) At only 12 weeks old they cant be left out over night.
And I thought it would be easier than looking after the boys!

As I now have quite a few of these gorgeous stamps, I thought Id have a go at the challenges, Plus I needed a Thinking of you card.

Hi all

I know I haven't been to visit any of my favourite blogs for 2 weeks, I've been on Nanna duties, and with 5 boys coming and going I've had to put my stash away from sticky fingers, Ade who is only 3 likes nothing better than play with things he shouldn't. (lol)

Donna set a real challenge for me this time. cause I hate decoupage with a vengeance.

I don't have any decoupage in my stash, I have lots of cds, but guess what... the printer decided to run out of ink.. grrrrrrrr So Ive resulted to using a stamp.

Hi All

I haven't deserted you all, just had some problems getting the new Laptop to do what I want it to do!! Give me windows 98 any day... Every time I turn it on it comes up with another silly question.. I do wish they wouldn't load stuff on that's not really needed.

I won the last Sir Stampalot challenge, and Wow, what a prize, Loads of punches, anyone that knows me knows that I love my punches. they get used for all sorts of things.. so they will be well used. When they arrived I couldn't wait to open them all up and try each one.. so I downed tools and did just that.. I went past lunch time without even realizing..(lol) and the dreaded housework still not finished.
So thank you everyone, it really did make my day

Sir Stampalot July challenge

The Challenge this month is Lazy Hazy days of Summer.

Lots of scope for this challenge, but what to choose? In the end I went for what summer means to me... Trees in full leaf, flowers in full bloom, Butterflies, Sun and Showers... but how to interpret that?

Ive chosen some green card stock, and inked it up with Adirondack ink in Lettuce, and stamped over it with Ranger's green peeled paint ink, using some tapestry stamps.
Found a picture on one of my crafting cds, which I printed out in two different sizes, Cut them with Nestabilities. and placed one on the face of the card and the other Ive used a the stopper of the easel card. I used a Penny Black sentiment stamp.

Its Emma's turn to set the theme this week, and she would like you to give her a laugh..

I had to think about this one, and eventually came up with a card that lots of women will understand..

I created the background by using Brenda Pinnick papers, one of which I tore to create the hills, and used my new grass (Martha Stewart) punch for the last layer. I stamped the trees, and foilage, using stamps from Stampscapes and added a few little birds. The golfing image and caddy are by Personal impressions, and the Visa sentiment was created on the PC. all were coloured with Promarkers.

I used Red, Cyan, Cool Aqua, Daffodil, Satin, Gold and True Blue, Tan and Cocoa for the golfers trousers, Skin tones blush, coral, and sunkissed pink.

While digital stamping is relatively new in the papercrafting scene, it is what I believe to be such an amazing tool. Printed images have such clarity and vibrancy and gone is the need to re stamp an image because you didn't press hard enough or maybe you pressed too hard! They are also a lot easier to store and they can be reprinted over and over again. The fact that you can rotate and flip files, print them off the size of a postage stamp or as large as a scrapbook page makes them such a versatile medium. It is my sincere hope that I can help anyone who has hesitations about using digital images to embrace these amazing creative tools. I originally chose the image Polar pals, but the finished card and the image was a little too girly, so Ive re-done the dt card using the Moose.. The challenge this week is set by Debs, who wants to see your favorite things, a real toughie.. it took a while to find something a bit different from the norm, but as one of my favorite things is Lladro porcelain. I decided to go with this, so I hope it applies. The Lladro figurines of Giesha girl and the Cranes are my most favorite pieces. I have a set of cranes, and if ever I win the lottery I will buy the Geisha girl.....too Until then I will covet it from a shop window.

Embelishment.....Japanese hair ornament, was made by stamping out two different sentiment coins,(Ive no idea where these stamps are from as they have been in my stash for years) coloured them, Then I made paper beads and glued them to cocktail sticks.

Another Monday morning.. I dont mind em now I dont have to go to work. Its a nice sunny one too. Unfortunately I have a job to do today... Clean behind the cooker... how on earth does it get in such a mess? Then paint it, as I have a new cooker being delivered this week..

Ive played about with bits of paper for hours, (well it seemed like it) but have settled for a simple effect.

The images is from the Boy oh Boy set, from Charmed cards and crafts Coloured with Promarkers Crimson, Red, Gold, Daffodil, Black, Ice grey, Cool Grey 3, Coral, Oatmeal, and Blush.
Ive used Bazzil card stock, and Ryman's ulta smooth white paper.

Its a dull morning here, but no rain so Ive had to water the baskets and tubs... Im off to see my youngest 3 Grandsons this afternoon, which I will enjoy.

I have used all shades of pink but Im not too sure if Ive achieved what I wanted. (lol) I guess we all suffer self doubt... sometimes, I wanted a real Hindu feel, but was limited to the backing papers I have. In the end I settled for Papermania, Pink capsule collection. I cut four strips of 1/4 in card, to form the half frame.

I felt right at home with this challenge, as I love my punches, and don't use them as much as I used too. I'm sorry the photo isn't very clear.. me n camera's don't mix.

The Sirstampalot challenge this month was Punches, I decided to do a wedding card and box

The box

I cut out a large oval and glued it to the centre of the box, then cut 1/4 inch strips to form the trellis, and punched out the hearts to decorate the edge of the oval. Made the flowers from various punches and placed them around the box.

I punched the edges two pieces of cream pearlised paper, using a Martha Stewart edge punch. Added the ribbon down the side, and stamped the sentiment, from SU

Sir Stampalot Challenge

Sir stampalot challenge theme is Butterflies and blossoms.

Ive had this stamp for years, so I decided to give it an airing. Ive stamped it 3 times n coloured them with Promarkers. Cut out the top wings of two of them, then shaped them before adding them to the main image.
Punched out the shapes for the roses using the left over bits of the Brenda Pinnick papers. Made the box using the crafters companion box maker. (the original wooden one)

Hi all, well Im back from Hols, had a great time, and the weather was lovely, just like it is here today. We flew from Bornemouth Airport for the first time, what a pleasure it was not to queue for everything, Gatwick and Heathrow have become a nightmare to travel through. Oh but its good to see the sun, this winter seems to have dragged on and on, I can finaly put me thermal vest away(lol)

Ive missed so many beautiful creations this last two weeks. I decided to have a play too. I was going through an odd box of bits, and found some paper Id printed off ages ago, (from a Sharon Duncan cd,) which I originally used for my papercraft class.
And as my new years resolution is to use up the bits of paper I have stashed, n not buy anymore... I can't resist buying more.

Hi all

By the time this is posted, I will be firmly planted in Majorca, and will be there until 19th of May. I apologise now as I may not be able to reply to all the cards entered. I pray the volcanic ash doesn't play up again while I'm there.

Im off on Holiday tomorrow morning, Volcanic ash permitting of course. We fly out at 6.55am to Majorca, Wer'e flying out from Bournemouth so hopefully its far enough south not to have any problems. Hi all

Im back after a week in Minehead, curtesy of the Sun newspaper, where the weather was glorious, even if the wind was chilly. Not a lot of craft shops to browse around though. But we did have a pit stop at Street, on the way down, and a trip out everyday, Thursday we had breakfast in Lynmouth, and a walk around the village, no energy to walk up to waters meet though.

We watched the news of the volcanic ash cloud with some concern, as we are due to fly out to Majorca on the 5th of May, it looks ok at the moment, and I just hope it don't kick off again.

Ida set a difficult challenge this week to create a background using only Promarkers.

I started by picking a colour to mount the image on, So I used Spice, as this was the colour I used on the Teddy.

The main background is Lemon, and Pear green wobbly stripes, The small piece is lemon and Pear green polka dot, and I edged all the card using Spice.

Im having to upload this early this morning, as I have an eye test booked for 9am.

The challenge for this week is any card other than a bifold.

Our sponsors this week are Fresh brewed designs all created by Heather who offers a wide range of images from coffee, to cute and inspirational.

Heather very kindly let the design team choose any one of her images, and there are over 200 to choose from. I chose this image for my card, With 5 Grandsons, who all love bugs and creatures. They love nothing better than going on a bug hunt with Nanna, armed with a plastic box, and a pair of disposable gloves they collect as many different ones as possible, and then look in the book to see what they are. Yuk I hear you say. Not the best pastime I know, but the boys love it, and its great to be on the same level as them "for a while at least." This card is for Reece to send his Grandad on his birthday.

Morning all

Firstly Donna over at Cards for men has invited me onto the design team. Which I was very pleased to accept. So this is my very first DT card.

The sponsor this week is Sunshine stamps and the theme is humourous. Well I certainly had fun using this image.

All the images have been hand drawn by Sunshine or Rob.

I have used Tractor to make this card, as it reminded me of Sherlock Holmes because of the Deer stalker hat. my bil loves this programe on tv and its his birthday soon, so this was just the right image for the job.

I had to use one of my own papers this week, because even with all my stash did I have anything that would go with Mango, also I had to colour the flowers n leaves too. but I must admit I enjoyed doing it.

Hiya Peeps

After nearly a week Ive decided to my act together and do a couple of challenge cards, I did make last weeks Promarker challenge card, but the batteries in my camera decided to die one me. (dont you just hate it when that happens lol).

Plus I had great friends visiting me for the weekend, Viv and Pam arrived on thursday, for a crafty break. Which was fabulous fun, We all went to the Farnborough Make it show on saturday, it was a little disapointing though, not a patch on other years. but the weekend was over all too soon. Miss you already gals and thanks for all the laughs, a much needed tonic, after all the dreary winter weather.

Big shot challenge Prize

I really had to rack my brains for this one, and finally plumped for Time, as time is the one thing that is always moving.

After cutting the shapes with the square Nestablilities, I created the clock by using Plexi glue and foil, drew some clock hands cut them out then coloured then with Promarkers.
I collect watches, so I went through my broken bits and found a little watch face and added that for balance.

I adapted the easel card as I wanted to decorate the inside, The clock inside was computer generated, n I couldnt find a time poem so I made one up myself.
I have used dps by Brenda Pinnick, Stamp is duet by inkadinkado (my all time favorite stamp) coloured with promarkers. Sentiment was computer generated.

A busy week for me, as Ive had quite a few birthday cards to do. I thought I was gonna run outta steam. But I finally managed to get around to the Promarker challenge card. I decided to have a go at this challenge, I love the layout, and was inspired by the lovely DT creations. I hope the little boy fairy is applicable.

Freebie image from Kathy's creative. coloured with promarkers, added a little glamour dust to the wings for highlight, then blushed the edges lightly with SU Verde Olive ink.

Border stamp (I dont know where from) Stamped a double border then coloured it with Promarkers

Created the sentiment on the computer, and punched it out with SU Punches.

Used hole punch to create the little red circles, and added a little glaze to give them a bead like appearance.

This weeks Promarker challenge, Use two colours, Cocoa and Cool Aqua,
Ive also used Rose pink, Pear, Red, and Duck egg blue. Dp by K&Co, a Sugar Nellie Stamp plus, a Border stamp, and sentiment (Ive no idea where from), and two tapestry Stamps.

Blushed the edges of the image lightly with SU Not quite navy ink.

Ive also coloured in the Border Stamp with Aqua and Agean, added some little pearls in two sizes to complete the project.

Ive been playin today, n Ive finished one card, I know its a bit OTT, but its for my daughter-in-law's birthday on the 15th Jan. Finaly Ive managed to get this done, Im all behind this week, its this weather its getting to me big time....

Ive made the flowers using Brenda's Fantastic Rose tutorial,found here I nomally use a small heart punch, for this type of Rose, but this way is so much quicker. So thank you Brenda, your'e a star..

The first of 2010, The challenge to make a card incorporating the word new, So here's what I came up with.. Good luck in your new school.

I created the background and sentiment in PSP to both I have added a blue n white border, and layered onto dark blue card stock. The image and pencil is from
a 5000/clipart cd. which Ive coloured with Promarkers. The blackboard was also created in PSP. Ive gone over the sentiment with a sukura clear glaze pen.

This is the first Challenge of Cards for Men. I have made this card for my no 1 son, who loves black n white, I have used dp's from Making Memories black and white pad. added the sentiment with the computer and highlighted the capital letters and the digi stamp/gsd file by (fanbricol) with gold glamour dust.

Just like to say a big thank you for Donna, for a much needed blog on Mens/boys cards, they are always so difficult to make for, and Im sure we will get lots of inspiration from the design team.

This weeks challenge theme was vintage, I admit I found this a little difficult and had to think about it. I ended up doing a sepia toned card and as its the first time Ive attempted a monochome image, I had to read Debbi's tutorial on Monochrome before I attempted it, so thank you Debbi it was a great help.

This is Millie (with snowball) I decided to use green for the coat and hat, and Im quite pleased with the result.. Back from holidays

It seems ages ago, I was last here. Ive been on holiday for the last 3 weeks. first week was spent with crafting friends in Burnham on sea, where we all had a fantasic time, a little crafting, a lot of laughs, and a few shopping trips, (for craft goodies of course) my thanks to Viv, Pam, Jackie, and Sandra for your company, one memory that will stick in my mind forever, was the poor boy who tried to take our order for dinner.. after a little highjinx he was shaking.. poor lad.

Then two weeks in Zante, which was like going home. we stayed in Kalamki, a small village, a few bar/resturaunts and a great beach, which is famous for its breeding grounds for the loggerhead turtles. the weather wasnt as good as we would have like but we had a great time anyway.

The photo is of Banana beach, which is fairly unpopulated even in the height of the season

Its nice to be back though

Ive had two of my Grandsons here since Monday, so crafting has taken a back seat, but I needed to practice colouring with Promarker reds, as the last time I did it was too orangy, but I was quite pleased with the results of this one, its nowhere near perfect, but I will keep practicing. Fairy Doodles

My Papercraft class starts again this thursday, and they have a choice of two projects the first one is a wallet card with two tags, and the second one is a concentina fold card.. It does'nt seem that long ago we stopped for the holidays...
or that we have been going 3 years.. but they are all raring to go again..

I hope they like the first project..

Ive used a buzzcraft fairy doodles stamp set for both projects, although Im not too sure where the papers were from, The sentiment is a PB stamp, coloured with promarkers and copics, ribbon from stash, and the faux brads are made from a hole punch then glossy accents added to give it dimention. edges blushed with SU rust ink.

They have 2 hours so it should be a completed project by the end of the evening, (thats if the chatter n laughter does'nt last all evening)... like it does most of the time.. the class will have a choice of papers to use, and of course a choice of colours to colour the image.. I know of at least one person who will choose blue....

Ive made this for my one of the ladies from my papercraft class whose Mum who will be 90 years old next tuesday. I used punches to make the flowers and leaves, just inked the edges to give it some definition..

I saw a super card made with this image and I just had to try it.. it was a bit of a marathon job though, but I do get carried away sometimes..

I coloured the image with copics and promarkers, added some extra grass to fill the bottom out. blushed the the edge with blue to resemble the sky, cut it out with me nesties, Cut the outer circle and the tree out with the craft robo. Watercoloured the tree to look somethin like a tree, created the signpost from clipart and added New Home.. coloured it and cut it out, a little bit of raffia n Im done.. Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

I love this image its so versatile.. I managed to get this done in between, getting lunch for my Grandson's who are on a sleepover for a few days, Although Ive had to put most of the stuff away, as its like a magnet, Sam whose 5 just loves colouring sticking n gluing.

Something a little different from me this week. but I did enjoy this challenge.

Ivory n black.. background paper from Jak Heath (Crafters Kitchen) Printed first verse of the Christmas carol O'little town of Bethlehem, on to ivory card stock, so thats my square done... circle stamp and centre flower stamp is from SU. gold star brads n ribbon from stash. cut them out with the circle Nestabilities, Then added a little gold glamour dust to tie it altogether. Two the same different colours, I didnt have any backing paper that matched, so I photographed the images, and then created my own.. Stamp by Blanc, yellow one coloured with copics, the pink one coloured by promarkers. ribbon and cardstock from stash, corner stamped with (My minds eye) wild asparagus, sentiment by Papercraft for you. Daisy May challenge

After looking at the Daisy May designs for a few weeks, I finaly made up my mind to get a few.. which ones should I go for.... I wanted them all... in the end I narrowed it down to six sheets... And this is my first challenge card.. I coloured the image with promarkers, (blush, pastel pink, rose, vanilla, pastel yellow, sandstone, cornflower, coolgrey 1, 2, and 4, lime green. I made the flowers using the Leone em bumble bee and a small oak leaf. I used my own designed backing papers and two friskars punches
